CDS Energy Services has completed a multi-million-pound jetty project for px Group at Saltend in Hull, marking a significant infrastructure upgrade on the East Yorkshire site.
The works centred on the replacement of a Duplex pipeline running along the jetty, with CDS delivering a full turnkey scope. This included fabrication and testing processes such as PMI, Dyepen, MPI and radiography, alongside pressure testing, transport of abnormal loads, offshore lifting operations, demolition, installation and final system commissioning.
A key element of the project involved close coordination with Humber Work Boats. Using the Rebecca M vessel, teams successfully installed 24-metre Duplex pipe spools before welding, navigating complex offshore conditions.
The full scope of works included:
– Shop fabrication, PMI, Dyepen, MPI & radiography
– Pressure testing
– Abnormal load transport to site
– Offshore lifting & cranage
– Demolition & installation
– Final system testing
In total, more than 80 lifts were carried out between barge and jetty throughout the programme. Despite challenging weather, the project was delivered safely, on schedule and without a single lost-time injury.
Both CDS and px Group highlighted the project as a strong example of effective collaboration, with further joint work anticipated in the future.
