CDS welcomes two new directors

Following one of the most successful years in the company’s history, CDS’s leadership team is expanding with the appointment of two new directors, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Derek Hunter joins the business as director, having worked for over 40 years in senior roles within the engineering and construction industries, including operations director and managing director at UKC&E between 1982 and 2001.

Derek has seen significant successes in his career, and recently established the mechanical construction unit within Balfour Beatty EC. For 25 years, he has also been an office bearer and member of the ECIA management board. This role has seen him join the ECIA negotiating team on a number of occasions to assist in NAECI wage reviews.

Bernie Geraghty has extensive experience in the engineering and construction sectors ranging from grassroots level to senior management, and joins CDS as managing director, building on a track record already spanning 30 years in senior management.

In 1984, Bernie established a very successful fabrication and engineering company, which was bought out by Foster Wheeler in 1989. Since then he has worked extensively for leading EPC contractors such as Amec, Balfour Beatty and Jacobs on large capital projects within the oil and gas, power, pharmaceutical and nuclear industries.

These strategic appointments will help CDS to continue its recent growth through significant contract wins and successful project delivery, with Bernie and Derek both playing a key role in the company’s future success.
